Hi. I’m Sara Manzano Davila, a senior at Georgetown Visitation. My family immigrated to the U.S. when I was quite young, and although it was fairly uncomplicated, it’s been an exhausting process that isn’t entirely complete yet. In sophomore year history, there was a project we did about the European refugee crisis. This project was incredibly informative, and incentivized me to take a further interest in global politics and human movement. So here we are. Immigration and the rights of migrants have become somewhat of a fraught issue, and as someone with a personal stake in the issue, I feel that I should do my best to make sure that the information available to people about migration is accessible, accurate, and compassionate in nature.

Mi familia emigró a los Estados Unidos cuando yo era chiquita, y aunque fue bastante sencillo para nosotros, ha sido un proceso agotador que aún no está completo.
